PATTAYA – December 28, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 1 a.m., a report of two persons being shot and asking for help was received by the radio dispatcher of Sawang Boriboonthammasatharn foundation Pattaya.

The request for help was made from the security box at Plab Warn hill, moo 6, Nongprue, Banglamung. When rescuers got to the scene, they found the two injured people.

The victims were identified as Mr. Ratchanon Pimpoch, 29 years old; and an 16-year-old boy whose name is withheld. They were both injured by a gun of unknown caliber. Rescuers performed first aid and sent them to Banglamung hospital.

The victims told rescuers that they were among a group of 10 motorbike riders riding around Pattaya. While they were riding in the area of Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, 3 male teenagers riding two motorcycles appeared.

The teen thugs blocked each side of their group with their motorbikes as they were riding. The three teens began taunting the group, saying things like, “Is that how you are riding your motorcycles?” Then one of the teens took out a gun and shot at their group, wounding two people.

After the incident, Pol. Lt. Col. Itsaranuwat Jongabhichaikul, the detective officer of Banglamung police station, went to Banglamung Hospital to question the victims further.

As for the reason for the shooting, police initially speculated that because the victims were in a big group of riders taking up road space, the three hostile teens got pissed off and shot them to intimidate the big group, or wanted to make their presence felt.

However, the police will accelerate the process to track down the violent armed motorbikers to prosecute.
