Motorbike Theft Gang Members Arrested in Pattaya

Pattaya police made a statement about the arrest of 3 gang members who stole motorbikes all over Pattaya. The police seized 7 bikes which 2 of them were re-united with their owners.

PATTAYA – July 4, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.15 a.m., in front of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi province, Pol.Capt. Supphathee Boonkhrong (Deputy Commander, Chonburi Provincial Police Station, Acting Superintendent of Pattaya city police station) held a press conference which was led by Pol.Lt.Col. Phairot Phetphloy (Acting Suppression Superintendent of Pattaya city police station), Pol.Lt.Col. Kowit Sawatmongkhon (Inspector), Pol.Maj. Thanawin Kaewsiang (Inspector), Pol.Capt. Netithorn Rattanasuchanan (Deputy Inspector), Pol.Lt. Joong Wongjan (Deputy Inspector) who together made a statement about the arrest of a motorbike theft gang who operated in Pattaya city. The arrested consisted of Miss Lamphoey Manketkit, aged 43, with the exhibit of 1 stolen motorbike in the allegation of stealing other people’s property or receiving stolen property Mr. Thongsoon Srijan, aged 37 and Mr. Phichet Srikhueankaew, aged 37, with the exhibits of 7 stolen motorbikes.

 

Pol.Col. Supphathee Boonkhrong (Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police Station (Acting Superintendent of Pattaya city police station) said that due to the amount of victims who had reported their motorbikes stolen the police rushed to catch the gang. A victim of the gang reported her bike stolen on July 2, 2014, at approximately 1.00 p.m. after she had parked in front of C.K. hotel, Phra Tam Nak road, south Pattaya. After reporting it to the police they rushed to catch the thief and arrested a Miss Lamphoey Manketkit, in the area of Nong Prue police station and she claimed that she was the owner and had just brought it. The police then seized another 4 stolen motorbikes that were parked at Miss Lamphoey’s house then investigated her further until they arrested Mr. Thongsoon and Mr. Phichet, who were her friends and belonged to the same gang. After their arrest the police seized another 2 motorbikes. The police then contacted the owners of 2 of the stolen motorbikes but they still don’t know who the other 5 belonged to.

 

The police warned people to protect and take care of their valuable property and if anyone knows who else is part of the gang to contact the police so they can be arrested and prosecuted according to the Thai law.
