Motorbike Theft Gang Arrested

Laem Chabang police have arrested a “Chai Neng” gang who would only Honda Scoopy I motorbikes. The defendants confessed that they had stolen over 200 motorbikes during last 4 months.

CHONBURI – May 17, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Col. Supphathee Boonkhrong (Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police Station) and Pol.Lt.Col. Tharathep Tuphanit (Deputy Superintendent of Laem Chabang police station) together made a statement about the arrest of Mr Netsak Somsing, aged 19, with a red-grey Honda Scoopy I motorbike, license number 1 Kor Jor 765 Udon Thani and Mr. A (alias), aged 17, with parts off 3 Honda Scoopy I motorbikes that he had a cloth bag which was about to be sent to Cambodia and 3 motorbikes that were about to be stripped for parts.

At 1.30 a.m. on May 16, 2014, the police of Laem Chabang police station were notified that a male driving a black Honda Accord car who was taking another male who was going to steal a red-grey Honda Scoopy I, license number 1 Kor Jor 765 Udon Thani, which was parked outside a rented room address, Moo 1 Tambon Thoong Sukkhala. Therefore, the police went and arrested a Mr Netsak with a stolen motorbike in front of Cozy pub, Moo 1 Tambon Thoong Sukkhala, after questioning him the police also arrested Mr A with exhibits at a construction camp at Tambon Nong Prue.

This gang consisted of Mr. Wutthichai or Neng Phraejai, aged 20, (the head of gang) and Mr Phanthep Praejai, aged 25, (the elder brother of Mr. Wutthichai), together with the other 2 defendants who would only steal Honda Scoopy I motorbikes by using a van which belonged to Mr Wutthichai and the car of Mr. Phanthep who would drive around looking for motorbikes to steal in the area of Amphur Banglamung, Pattaya, Laem Chabang, Nong Kharm .

The 2 defendants confessed that they had stolen over 200 motorbikes for Mr. Wutthichai during last 4 months and they would steal on average 2-4 motorbikes each night. After they stole them they would take them to a rented house no. 138/2 Moo 1 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung in order to let Mr Wutthichai and Mr Phanthep take off the spare parts before packing them into cloth bags to be sent to their Cambodian friends in the same gang at Rong Kluea market, Sa Kaew province.
