Motorbike Racing Gang Shoots at Banglamung Police

A Banglamung police was shot by motorbike gang members while he was on duty and tried to stop an illegal motor bike race at Sai 36 Road near the Peera Circuit Pattaya

Banglamung, July 10,2011(PDN), Pol.Lt.Col. Issaranuwat Jongapichaikul, Banglamung Police was informed that a police officer was shot by a biker gang and had been taken taken to the Banglamung hospital.

At the emergency room of the Banglamung hospital, it was discoverd Pol.Sen.Sgt.Maj. Tuspong Tongthud,40, Banglamung police, the victim, was shot in his left leg.

Pol.Sen.Sgt.Maj. Tuspong said that while he was on duty, he was informed that there were groups of teens racing at Sai 36 Road near the Peera Circuit Pattaya. As he arrived 30 teens are about to start a motorbike race. He drove up and tried to stop them from racing but they fired shots at his car resulting in his injuries. He also shot back at the teens.

There after the motorbike gang fled the scene. Since his car tires were damaged in the shooting he was unable to pursue the gang. At Mabbon village he asked the village headman to take him to the hospital.
Later on, Pol. Col. Somneuk Janket along with his team and Banglamung civil defence volunteers searched for the suspects by blocking the area of Sai 36 Road near the shooting incident. The police could arrest only three of the suspects as the rest of suspects had escaped.

The police did not find any fire arms with the three suspects who were detained for further investigation. The search the gang members who escaped is still on.
