Yet another incident occurred at 00.15 am on 31st January when Pattaya Deputy Superintendent Pol. Lt. Col. Sutum Chowsritong was notified that a foreign man and his wife had been robbed in front of the Tuk Com Computer Centre on South Pattaya road.

At the scene the police team found Miss Pornkaew Mongkolkitt [31] , residing at 33 Moo. 4 Donghen, Konkaen and her husband, Mr. Brian Fewtrfee [58] , in a frightened state.

Miss Pornkaew explained that she was sitting on the back of the motorbike with her bag while her husband was driving towards Walking Street. Two men, wearing black clothes and with their faces covered by helmets, were on a motorbike following them.

The thieves managed to grab her bag containing a diamond necklace valued at about 70,000 BT, a diamond ring worth 60,000 BT, over 20,000 BT in cash, a mobile phone and ATM card. The total value stolen was around 200,000 BT. The thieves sped away towards Pattaya Third Road. The victims were unable to give a description of the theives’ motorbike.

Police sent out an alert over the radio but there was no sighting of the robbers.

Miss Pornkaew said she felt sorry for the loss because they were gifts from her husband who had run a jewelry business in England. “I really want the police to try to find these snatchers and bring them to the justice”, she said.
