A mother complained to the police that her daughter had gone to Bangkok to be a prostitute, working via a website because she was afraid of offending her mother if she asked her for money.

Bangkok, December 17, 2011 – Pol. Col. Supatchara Peungpuang, Superintendent, Pol. Lt. Col. Suthin Suandokmai, Deputy Superintendent, Pol. Lt. Col. Mana Janlad, Inspector, arrested a group of teenagers dealing with the sex trade via a website, the 6 teenagers – Ms. A (alias) age 18, Ms. B (alias) age 18 and Ms. C (alias) age 17 , Mr. Mo (alias) age 19, Mr. O (alias) age 18 and Mr. Yo (alias) age 18 at the rented room in the Perfect Resort, Ladprao.

On the evening of December 16, 2011, Mrs. Somying (alias) age 45, from Nakornratchasima province complained to the police that Ms. A had disappeared and she had found out that her daughter was selling sexual services via a website which she had been told about by the daughter’s friend. The officers traced the information and discovered that a group of teenage girls had rented a room at the Perfect Resort in Ladprao. The police brought them all in for questioning.

Initially, all of them confessed that they came to Bangkok because they wanted to earn money for study and they were afraid of offending her mother if they asked for money. The men involved were lady boys and had come to assist them in posting on the website because they had good computer skills. All of them came to Bangkok during weekends and went to school on weekdays. Besides, there was also another group of their friends who also came to sell sexual services, they charged 15,000 THB each time.

After the 6 teenagers had been checked for drugs in their urine, the result being negative and they hadn’t sold any sexual services, the officer made a record of the investigation and then informed their parents to pickup them up.
