SATTAHIP – September [PattayaDailyNews]; at 09.00 am Mr.Pariya Photisad- chief district of Sattahip- had ordered Mr.Chawat Thepthap- deputy chief of the stabilization division- to lead a team of officers to set up a checkpoint in front of the Ambassador City hotel Jomtien.
Mr Parinya revealed that the officials had set up a checkpoint because there had been an accident involving a minivan which had crashed into a bus injuring 1 person. Also local people had complained about the recklessness of the minivan drivers; therefore, the district office needed to control the drivers to keep the public safe. At the checkpoint their driving licenses were checked along with the condition of their vehicles.
Upon inspecting 18 minivans they found that 13 of them were in an unsafe condition because they hadn’t been checked for over 6 months. No drivers failed a drug test.
