Ministry of Public Health: One Navy Man Confirmed Dead From H1N1 Virus

BANGKOK, June 29- Thailand's Ministry of Public Health on Monday confirmed that a naval personnel at Chonburi's Sattaheep Naval Base died from influenza A(H1N1), raising the country's virus fatalities to three persons.

Deputy Public Health Minister Manit Nopamornbodhi revealed that the victim, MR Natthapong Faijaidee, [21] , from Srakeaw province,suffered severe symptoms, including lung bleeding, and he died at 08.45 am, Monday morning. Doctors are investigating whether he had experienced any ongoing diseases which may have been contributing factors to his death.

Mr. Manit also confirmed 41 new A(H1N1) cases, raising the country’s cumulative number to 1,330, but 1,309 persons originally diagnosed have already recovered and are staying at home, while 18 persons remained at various hospitals.

The ministry on Saturday confirmed the country’s first two H1N1 fatalities, a 40-year-old woman who died a week ago on June 20 at a private hospital and a 42-year-old man who died at a hospital in Chon Buri’s Sri Racha district Saturday morning. (TNA)
