Ministerial Regulation Effective On HotelierOfficial legislated ministerial regulation in order to manage and control hotelier. The regulation has been effective already.
PATTAYA-14 September- [PattayaDailyNews]; At Grand Sole Pattaya hotel, Mr Krit Jiramongkol, deputy director of PBTA, chaired the monthly conference of the association.
Mr Anawat Buraphachon, experienced city plan engineer, narrated and instructed attendants about kinds of building according to ministerial regulation. The hoteliers should register when the regulation would be effective.
Mr Anawat said that tourism industry in Thailand has grown up continuously, the number of hotel has also increased accordingly. However, some hoteliers illegally open hotel without registration. As a result, quality of some hotels are lower standard; therefore, hoteliers should be managed and controlled in order to maintain sustainable tourism industry.
In addition, registered hotels have been exploited by illegal ones because they have to bear high cost of construction in order to meet quality mentioned in building regualtion and higher rate of tax. Ministerial regulations has been effective since 19 August 2016 and the official aims to bring every hotelier to legal system within 5 years.
Mr Sinchai Wattanasartsathorn, director of PBTA, said that there are 2,600 hotels in Pattaya or 130,000 rooms but only 40% of hoteliers registered with official. PBTA asks for collaboration from hoteliers after ministerial regulations has been enforced.
