Sattahip, 3rd April 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: At 6:30 p.m., a military conscription was held at Ban Sattahip School hall, for both the Army and the Navy.

Out of 435 volunteers, only 135 men were successfully enlisted – 92 men in the Navy and 43 soldiers in the Army.
A medical examination was required for the recruitment. A lady boy known as Fah (unknown real name), who had breasts transplantation was exempted under category two (Transgender Operation).

Many Thai men also received military exemption based on category four, which only enlisted men within certain weight limit. Hence, several men intentionally gained weights in order to avoid being drafted
