Thai Men Caught Red Handed With Stolen Credit Cards

Two Thai men were caught red handed after they used stolen credit cards to buy expensive items to re-sell them.

PATTAYA – January 8,2015 [Pattaya Daily News] at 01.30 am Pol.Lt.Col.Chitedecha Songhong-deputy superintendent of Chonburi- was accompanied with the police officers to arrest Mr.Pitawat Akkarathitiweerakul aged 52 and Mr.Narongrit Boonyawat aged 42 with 7 credit cards, Iphone 6 plus, Samsung Note 4, bag and a wallet.


Pol.Lt.Col.Chitdecha revealed that the police were previously notified from Kasikorn bank that someone had used the credit cards of a foreigner to buy things in the mall in Pattaya and nearby places. They expected that the credit cards were used illegally, officials investigated and found Mr.Pitawat in Numchai Home Electronics shop in Central Pattaya.

he had also purchased an Iphone 6plus for 30,000 baht via the credit card before he acted suspiciously and rushed out from the shop to his motorcycle that Mr.Narongrit was waiting for him on. Later the officers inspected them and found another Samsung Note 4 that they bought previously and other credit cards.


Upon questioning them they claimed that they bought the credit cards from Mr.Ni who stole them from foreigners who were on a minibus. He bought the cards for 1,000-2,000 baht each at Don Munag airport. They bought expensive items before trying to sell them on again.

Initially, the police officers prosecuted them on charge of fraud and receiving stolen items.​
