Upon questioning Chief Petty Officer Second Class Sa-yan Phongcharoen, aged 48, who was the house owner told the police that he lived there with his wife and 3 children. Before the incident occurred he and his wife had gone to work and the children had gone to school, he assumed that the cause of fire may have been an electrical short circuit.

Pol.Capt. Saijai Khamjulla said that an eyewitness who lived near the house heard several explosions before noticing the house was on fire. However, the police will have to wait for the results from the fire investigation team to find the real cause of the fire.
