PATTAYA-23 July- [PattayaDailyNews]; Mr Aekarat Khantaro, director of marine department, summoned ferry operators in order to instruct marine safety and explain Pattaya beach expansion plan.

Aekarat said that Pattaya is the famous beach city and there are a lot of tourists traveling to Pattaya each year. Even though there are thousands of ferries, the number of ferries are insufficient during long holidays.

In addition, the official sets the safety of the tourist as first priority; therefore, the operators are requested to have safety equipment in order to prevent accident.

Aekarat added that Marine department and Pattaya official collaborate to make beach expansion in order to cope beach erosion. Plus, the official provided 429,185,000 baht to Marine Construction to take care the project.

As a result, the official aims to effectively manage marine traffic so that Pattaya beach expansion would be unaffected and the operators can normally operate.

Pattaya beach would be extended the existing shoreline out into Pattaya Bay from Pattaya Information Centre to Dusit Thani hotel by approximately 2.8 Km. In addition, three platforms would be constructed 1,500 meters from shoreline so that sand barge can dock there. Therefore, ferry operator would have to avoid lane of the sand barge. It’s expected that the plan would be finished in 7 months later.
