Marine Department Sets Up Water Security Centre For Song kran Festival

The Marine department and 5 other departments have set up a water security centre for Song Kran festival (April 11-17) in Bali Hai Pier.

PATTAYA – April 10,2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; At Bali Hai Pier Mr Sakchai Tangho- sheriff of Banglamung-, Dr.Veeravat Khakhai-the vice mayor of Pattaya-, Mr.Phimuk Prayoonprom-the director of the 6th Marine Department -, Mr.Prasit Thongtitcharoen-the chief of Sawangborriboon security centre-, Mr,Rewat Phoriang-director of Pattaya Marine Department -,Mr.Sinchai Watthanasathsathorn-the mayor of business and tourism association- Dr.Pichit Kangwonkit-director of Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital- and those involved opened the temporary water security centre during 11-17 April.

A water security centre has been set up in order to control, monitor and accommodate water transportation including water traffic arrangement with the participation of Banlamung municipal, marine police, sea shore security team, Sawangborriboon rescue team, Arsavaree network and Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital. The centre aims to provide extra security for expats during Song Kran day.

However, there weren’t any water accidents reported last year during Song Kran festival in Pattaya. The centre has set up a hot line that people can use if they see or are involved in water accidents, the hot line number is available 24 hours a day the number is 1199 or the 6th Marine Department of Pattaya 0-3841-1441.
