Manager Arrested For Selling Fake Krabi Tour Packages

A manager who sold fake Krabi tour packages has finally been arrested. He had taken nearly 40 million baht whilst selling the scam.

KRABI- May 30, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- Mr.Pratheep Kaewnon aged 40- general manager of a resort in Krabi- was caught arrested by Krabi tourism police after he opened a company which was selling fake Krabi tour packages. There were about 10,000 victims who had bought his packages during 2013,October-2014 March. The total damage is around 30-40 million baht and now 300 of victims had notified the police.

Mr.Pratheep had opened 7 branches of tour companies which had been operating for 6 years and he had about 100 million baht in his circulation. He then set up a new branch in Wangnamkeaw but the business lost money and went into liquidation. Therefore he decided to sell fake low-price Krabi tour package (3 days 2 nights for 2,590 baht) at a tourism exhibition. The victims bought his packages and went to Phra-nang resort but they arrived they found that they had where to stay and there was no record of their booking. After many complaints he fled to Khon-Kaen where he was finally arrested by police who will prosecute him for advertising fake ads and cheating consumers.
