Management of Pattaya City called an emergency meeting

A formal complaint was submitted by the residents about the bad smell coming out from the dump site.

Residents from Moo 6-7-8, Nongplalai District complained to Pattaya City about the smell coming out from the dump site, residents living around that area are much affected. Management of Pattaya City is finding a solution to the problem.

At Pattaya City Hall, Mr. Tavich Chaysawangwongse, Chief of Pattaya City Council announced the 3rd Common Meeting 2006, the meeting was attended by Pattaya City Management, Council, Chief of Government department and all concerned.
Recently, Pattaya City is attracting many tourists from other countries yet the city has to face with environmental problem such as no proper management of garbage disposal which might cause bad impression to the tourists.

The residents from Nongpalai, Banglamung also submitted a complaint about the garbage giving them unpleasant air to breathe at night time, which they are afraid it may cause respiratory problem to the community in the future.

After receiving the complaints, Deputy Mayor Wutisak Rermkitkarn, who is responsible for the environmental needs, went to inspect the area in Moo 6-7-8, Nongprue and found out the actual problem.

Pattaya City is finding a solution to this problem; in the past 2 years Pattaya City went on an education trip to France to study the French garbage disposal system. Pattaya City plan to use the French garbage disposal system to solve the garbage problem in Pattaya. The city plan also to have a relocation area for new dumping site.
