Man Shot after Football Match in Pattaya

After promising to return home from watching a football match that was being televised, a man was shot after being chased through a house and died outside the back of the property.

Pattaya 28th June 2010[Pattaya Daily News] At 2.50 am Police Lieutenant Nitiphum Butwong (Banglamung Police Investigator) was informed of a shooting at 126/1, Soi Wat Nongmanao, Nongthep Road, Moo 8, Banglamung. The officer and the Superintendent along with Sawang Boriboon Foundation personnel went to investigate the situation.

At the scene of a single house on 20 Rai of land, they found a bronze Nissan pick up parked at the front of the house with the key in the ignition. A broken black I-mobile phone was found on the ground nearby. There were blood stains trailing from the front of the house, through the kitchen and out of the back leading to the chicken run behind the house, where the deceased body of Mr. Aphichat Janhorm [28] the owner of the house and the chicken run was discovered lying beside the canal, 100 meters from the chicken run.

During the investigations, it was noted that the victim was shot with a .38 caliber gun in the back with one gun shot to the right of the heart. The deceased body has been sent to the Banglamung Hospital for forensics and an autopsy.

Miss Orrasa Buakhan [28] the wife of the deceased was crying as she tried to explain that she had been with him for 10 years and had one child from their relationship. She was waiting for his return at around 12.15 am from watching the match when she had a call form her mother in law’s brother saying that her husband had been shot after the end of the match.

Her husband Mr. Janthorn was watching the match that started at 1.30 am, promising to be home by the end. Subsequently a few moments after the ending of the match, she received a phone call telling here that her husband had been shot.

Miss Buakhan did not know of any problems with their friends and had not heard of anything untoward between her husband and anyone else. She just knew that her husband favored playing football gambling with friends. He also had friends who were drug users. She said that he was possibly killed by some friend involved in football and drugs.

The officers stated that after interrogations they believe the murderer must have known the victim well to have been able to follow his tracks They believe the offender had hidden outside the front of the house waiting for their opportunity to kill Mr. Jahorm before he was able to drive off. On seeing the offender, the victim is believed to have gone back through the house in order to make his escape via the back door where he had finally been shot.

Mr. Janhorm managed to drag his body to the chicken run where he died. The murder is assumed to have been in connection with drugs or gambling.

Police will continue with their investigations by examining the phone numbers and questioning all the victims’ friends in a bid to find the murderer and close the case.
