Man Found Murdered In Pattaya Canal

A man has been murdered and dumped in a Pattaya canal. The murder suspect was caught within an hour by Pattaya police.

PATTAYA – September 22, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Lt.Anupong Puangpee-investigation inspector of Bang Lamung police station- was notified that a body had been found in the Na Klua canal. After notification Pol.Col.Thammanoon Mankong was accompanied with police officers who rushed to the scene.

 

At the scene the officials found the body of Thai man approximately aged 35-40 in the canal which was in water around 1 meter deep. The body had bruises to its back and face and looked like it had been severely beaten. It’s expected that the body had been dead for about 5-6 hours.

 

Upon inspecting the bridge which was 20 meters from the crime scene, the officers found some clothes and a blood stain. In addition there was a blood stain leading into the canal. Upon questioning Mrs.Boonruen Siriwan aged 43 she revealed that she was near the scene when someone told her that there was a body in the canal so he went to have a look before immediately notifying the police.

She told police that she saw Mr.Dam aged 40 who had lived under the bridge and had stayed with the victim for about 5 days.. She hadn’t seen them for 2 days but she only saw Mr.Dam in the afternoon of the incident day before he disappeared.

 

Later the officers arrested the suspect in front of the old gas station which is located 500 meters from the crime scene. The suspect was identified as Mr.Porn Sonsamlee aged 42 who sold old stuff. The police then detained him to be questioned at police station. Initially he rejected the allegations and claimed he had only known him for 5 days. He added that he and the deceased had drunk alcohol and they argued with each other but he didn’t kill him. However the police expected that he was the murderer because the shirt he was wearing was covered in blood. Therefore the police officers charged him with murder.
