Pattaya, the 15th of January 2010, [Pattaya Daily News]: At approximately 12.00pm, Lieutenant Colonel Tanadet Doungta Piyachai (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified that a body of a man had been found head first in a water container in the village on Soi Nern Plubwan 5, Nongprue. Officers along with a rescue team from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation rushed to the scene to investigate.

Arriving at the scene of the crime officers found, at the entrance of the Soi, a 200 litre plastic water container lying on the ground with the body of a Thai man head first inside. When the officials removed the body, they found the man was wearing a yellow t-shirt and jeans. He is believed to be around 40 years old and was identified as Mr. Noon from Prajinburi, a construction worker. He had suffered a sever head trauma prior to his death with a 10cm long wound and was bleeding from his right wrist. It was presumed he had been dead at least 12 hours before the discovery of his body. Police also found a mobile phone and 180 baht cash in his pocket.

Police searched the area and the three storey [6 blocks] building, 200 hundred metres from Mr Noon’s body. The buildings are under construction. In the third building, police found signs of a struggle and bloodstains on the ground along with a thong. A triangular shaped steel bar approx 1.20 metre long was found nearby. Police believe it to be the murder weapon.

Mr. Suwit Meungpan, [40] residing at 56/11 Moo. 6 Naklua was in charge of the construction project as the contractor. He told police that Mr Noon had worked for him for the last 2 years and was a bricklayer. On the evening of 14th January, Mr Noon was having drinks with his friends. Mr Suwit did not notice any problems at the time. He then went out and returned to the site at around 8.00pm. He found that Mr. Noon had disappeared. He searched for Mr. Noon, but did not find him. His body was then discovered the following day. Mr. Suwit noted that two construction workers from the nearby project, aged around 30-40, rushed out from the crime scene. He believed the two men were connected to the murder as they were with Mr Noon drinking on previous evening, prior to his disappearance.

Pol.Col. Somneuk Junket, Banglamung superintendent revealed that the police believed the murder was caused by a conflict during the drinking session. He also added that witnesses saw a black pick up truck picking up the two Thai men out side the building. One of them men did not wear shoes.

The police will continue with their investigations into the case and are assured they will bring the offenders to justice.
