Man Fatally Stabbed In South Pattaya In Fight Over Tourists

A tour operator touting for clients in South Pattaya stabbed and killed a competitor during a fight in Soi Diamond in South Pattaya.

Pattaya, 10 December 2010 (PDN): At 3.00 pm a medical officer from the Pattaya Memorial hospital notified Pattaya Police Investigato,r Lieutenant Colonel Phumphat Namphuttha, that a man had been admitted with serious stab wounds following a fight in Soi Diamond in South Pattaya. He had later died of his injuries. A police team was dispatched to the hospital to investigate.

On arrival they found the already deceased body of Mr. Natthaphong Kesornsunthorn [24] from Nakhonsrithammarat, together with several of his friends. Under examination of the body, officers discovered several deep stab wounds on both arms, and also to the chin and head. Doctors said Mr. Natthapong had died from severe shock due to loss of blood. Photographs of the wounds were taken as evidence.

Witnesses told police that the assailant was Mr. Phirot Muangkhla [32] living at 144/37, Naklua, Banglamung and both men worked in Walking Street, touting for tourists to use their tour services. The two men worked the same area, and often ended up fighting over clients. This day was no exception, and a fist fight ensued between Mr. Phirot and Mr. Natthaphong in Soi Diamond, off Walking Street in South Pattaya.

In this instance Mr. Muengkhla had grabbed a knife from a food stall and stabbed Mr. Kesornsunthorn several times.
Police had ordered undercover officers to look for the offender who was believed to be still hiding in Pattaya. In addition they would apply for an arrest warrant from the Pattaya Provincial Court. The deceased’s body would be released to relatives for funeral arrangements.
