Male University Student Collides Into Pickup Truck

A male university student who swerved his motorbike to avoid a ten-wheeled truck collided into a parked pickup truck killing him instantly.

PATTAYA – February 8,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.00 p.m.; Pol.Lt.Col. Pornchai Plangsiritharm (Inquiry official of Investigation Sub-division of Khao Khiaw Highway Police) was notified that there was an accident involving a motorbike and a pick-up truck and there was one fatality. The incident occurred on motorway no. 7 part 5, entrance route to Bangkok in the area of Moo 2 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province, so he rushed to inspect at scene together with the rescuers of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Sathan Rescue Foundation.

 

At the incident the officers found a navy blue-black Honda Wave S125 motorbike, license no. Ngor Mor Kor-35 Chon Buri, that had collided into the back of a white Deva pick-up truck, license no. Thor Lor-8591 Bangkok. Also there was the deceased identified as Mr. Passakorn Treethongrat, aged 23, who was a senior university student of the College of Industrial Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB). He lived at house no. 9/2 Moo 6 Tambon Pong, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province.

 

Upon investigating Mr. Phong Poonsawat, aged 52, residing at house no. 209/12, Moo 2 Tambon Bueng, Amphur Si Racha, Chon Buri province, who was the pick-up truck driver, he told the police that before incident occurred he had parked his truck to answer the phone when suddenly there was a large impact to the back of his truck. He then got out to see what had happened and found a motorbike had hit the back of his truck and the rider was dead so he called the police.

 

The police had investigated the circumstantial witnesses and they perceived that before incident occurred Mr. Passakorn (the deceased) was riding his motorbike along the road and swerved into the inside lane to avoid a ten-wheeled truck and collided into Mr. Phong pickup truck. Mr Passakorn was detained by the police for further questioning and the deceased was sent to Banglamung hospital.
