Male Photographer Selling Crystal Meths Via Facebook

Banglamung and Sattahip officials arrested a male agent selling Methamphetmines (crystal meth) who posed as a photographer of a well-known pub in Pattaya city in order to conceal from police and government officials what he was doing via Facebook.

PATTAYA – January 8 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 2.00 a.m., Mr. Praphan Prathumchomphu (Head of Security Division of Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province) and Mr. Chawat Thepthap (Deputy District Chief of Security Division, Amphur Sattahip) together mobilized forces of special operation officers of National Command Centre for Combating Drugs (NCCD) of Amphur Sattahip and Amphur Banglamung purchased Methamphetamines from the drug agent who was identified as Mr. Patthaweekarn or Ken Jaipaeng, aged 20, (a photographer of one well-known pub in Pattaya city) at house no. 99/279 Moo 10 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province, he was in possession of 2 bags of Methamphetamines (total weight of 2.9 g), bank notes from his sale totalling 2,500 THB, 1 digital weighing machine and 23 bullets size .38.


Mr. Chawat Thepthap (Deputy District Chief of Security Division, Amphur Sattahip) revealed that due to the officials investingating known drug addicts (which were the drug network of Mr. Ken) it became clear that Mr. Ken was the supplier despite working as a photographer of one well-known pub in Pattaya city, which was his guise in order to conceal his main activities from the police and government officials. Officials set a trap to purchase drugs using an undercover agent who contacted Mr. Ken to buy 1 bag of Methamphetamines, weight 1.1 g, in price of 2,500 THB, before his arrest. Mr. Ken was in possession of Methamphetamines 1.8 g and bullets that were hidden in his bedroom.

Upon investigation Mr. Ken, confessed that he smuggled drugs to sell Methamphetamines to groups of nightlife travelers in one well-known pub of Pattaya city in which he worked as a photographers in order to conceal from the police and government officials what he was doing. He said that mostly he would sell Methamphetamines via Facebook with a nickname of KEN DIFFER because it was a convenient way and could prevent the police from eavesdropping on him. Initially, Mr. Ken was detained with exhibits and sent to an inquiry official of Nong Prue police station to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law with an allegation of having type 1 narcotic in possession for selling.​
