Malaysian-Vietnam Smuggled Reserved Birds Across Border

The field army and the immigration officers at Sa Kaeo province arrested Vietnamese and Malaysian for smuggling reserved birds worth several thousand baht across the Vietnam border

SA KAEW – May 29, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]: Yesterday the field army in coordination with the immigration officers set up the checkpoints to intercept the smuggling of drugs and illegal imports into the country in front of Aranyaprathet , Sa Kaew border.
 
The two foreign men carrying a large cardbox who were coming out from the Market Salt Plant and heading to the Cambodian border were found suspicious. The suspects are Mr. Dong Tian Shan, Vietnamese, aged 47 and Mr. Kim Chua-Hui, Malaysian aged 31. The officers searched the box and found many wildlife animals including 12 love birds of about 1 month old, 10 macaws of 15 days old, and 3 Falcon of 15 days old. The police detained two men as they did not have the legal transfer permit with them.
 
Both the arrested men confessed that this time they bought these reserve animals from Chatuchak Park for 50,000 baht and will resell them in Vietnam for 100,000 baht . They have previously smuggled the animals across the border without obtaining any permits from the concerned authority.
