Machine Guns and Other Weapons Found Near Road

Acting Director-General of the National Police Bureau went to inspect an area in Chonburi province where lots of guns and ammunition was found in some long grass near a road.

CHONBURI – June 3, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; the police of Mueang Chonburi police station, Chonburi province, had inspected the overgrown grass forest in Moo 1 in Soi 12, Tambon Ban Suan, Amphur Mueang, Chonburi province which was approximately 100 meters from the road, after they were notified by a Chinese man that there were a lot of weapons, guns and ammunition. Therefore, the police of Mueang Chonburi police station reported to Pol.Gen. Watcharaphon Prasarnratchakit (Acting Director-General of the National Police Bureau), Pol.Gen. Wuth Liptaphanlop (Deputy Director-General of the National Police Bureau), Pol.Lt.Gen. Sakda Chuenphakdee (Acting Commissioner of Immigration Bureau) to inspect the scene.


The officers found 1 AK 47machine gun, 2 rifles, shotguns size .38, Glock guns, guns size .357 and various types of ammunition including over 500 bullets for a M79 size .38 rifle and 1 big elephant tusk so the officers seized all of them for evidence.


Pol.Gen. Watcharaphon said that on June 1, 2014 the police had arrested a Mr. Yi Por, aged 30, and Mr. Yi Thao, aged 30, Chinese nationality who are twins that arranged a trade with guns and weapons trans nationally according to the arrest warrant of Taizhou, Jiang Su, China, they had organised guns and weapons in Thailand to be delivered to a customers in China via a transportation company in Thailand.


The Chinese officials had arrested 4 Chinese customers who had implicated Mr. Yi Por and Mr. Yi Thao and they had also seized 55 guns and over 20,000 bullets. Then they coordinated with the Immigration Bureau of Thailand so the Thai police could arrest the 2 twin defendants (Mr. Yi Por and Mr. Yi Thao) at PTT petrol station, Soi Maiyalarp, Prasertmanukit 29 road, Ladphrao Sub-district, Ladphrao District, Bangkok.
