PATTAYA – September 7, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 1:20 a.m., a report of a violent robbery of a motorbike driver was received by Pol. Lt. Col. Kierttisak Sathongoy, Deputy Superintendent, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province.

He rushed with a police team to the scene in front of an apartment at Burapha Place, south Pattaya, address 53/12 Moo 10 Tambon Nong Preu,Amphur Banglamung.

The victim, Mr. Siriphong Janthasakha, age 25, was lying on the ground in front of Tony’s Gym on third Pattaya road, south Pattaya. Mr. Siriphong was wearing a motorbike-for-hire a jacket.

He was seriously injured after being hit by a stick of wood almost 1-meter long. His elbow was torn and bleeding, so the rescue officer of Sawangboribul performed first aid on the injury.

During questioning, Mr. Siriphong told police that he had received a phone call from his friend named “Ms. Beer,” (not her real name), who owed him money. She was calling to make arrangements to return the money. They then agreed to meet in front of the apartment.

So Mr. Siriphone left his workplace on his motorbike, riding on a white-black Honda Click 1, license number JOR KOR KHOR 933, Chonburi.

As he approached the meeting spot, he saw Ms. Beer standing about 20 meters away, waiting for him in front of the building.

Suddenly a thin, dark-skinned Thai man jumped out of the bushes by the street holding a big stick. The man was about 170 cm tall, and had tattoos on his leg and chest.

The stranger with the stick whacked Mr. Siriphone in the back and in his arm viciously. Mr. Siriphone then decided to fight against the man. But he could not defend himself successfully against his assailant.

He was bashed with the stick again until he lost consciousness and fell to the ground. The man then got on Mr. Siriphone’s motorbike, and called Ms. Beer to get on also. They quickly rode away. The apartment manager then called the police.

Police later inspected the room of Ms. Beer, which was a daily rental. The police didn’t find any illegal items, so they took photographs for evidence.

As for the cause of the robbery, the police assumed that Ms. Beer had planned in advance to make a phone call to deceive the victim, by claiming that she will return money to the victim, which he had lent her during the flood. Then Ms. Beer let her partner beat the victim with the stick and steal his motorbike.

The detective police team will follow up to arrest the thieves to prosecute further according to the law.
