The villa itself is part of a 5-villa, self-contained complex, Golden Mountain Villa II, with total gated security and privacy and is accessible only via a residents’ remotely operated infra-red device.  The property would be eminently suitable for a couple, a small family, perhaps that of an ex-pat executive employed by one of the companies in the Eastern Seaboard’s industrial complexes, or a discerning investor intent on finding for himself the most optimal property and content to use the villa for a period as an extremely convenient base from which to prospect for potential residential investments.

Speaking of convenient locations, it would be difficult to find one so well placed, mid-way between Pattaya and Jomtien, thus making the myriad attractions of the two townships equally accessible. For gourmets, turning right, one has some of the finest restaurants on the Eastern Seaboard close at hand, rivalling the best in the capital, Bangkok, itself.

One also has the pleasures of Jomtien Beach with its water-sports and the 20+ golf courses within easy driving distance, accessed via Sukhumvit Road and the national road network. Turning left, the ever-growing shopping facilities of Pattaya beckon, sufficient to satisfy even the most avid shopaholic. In addition, what must count amongst the most exotic nightlife on the planet is a mere stone’s throw away down Thappraya Hill.

The villa itself is of a contemporary tropical design, typical of the exclusive residential environment which surrounds it. Entering through the impressive porch, one is immediately confronted by the private swimming pool, set amidst a lush tropical garden, with classic statues and ornamentation tastefully placed among the fanned banana trees and other broad-leafed plants, the whole ensemble bathed in verdancy, flecked with vibrant colour. From the villa, the swimming pool is supremely accessible via the sliding French doors, giving one the option of the external or internal lifestyle that is the hallmark of the paradise that is Thailand.

If entertaining is your predilection, the choice of sitting in relaxed comfort around the pool, or a more formal setting is open to you inside, in the spacious open-plan lounge-dining room. On the other hand, if simply lounging is more to your liking, you can sprawl luxuriously on the ample couch with your loved one and watch a selection of movies on the wide-screen TV, with a wide variety of options provided by both UBC and Sophon cable, enough to gratify the most indulgent of tele-addicts.

From what has already been said, it is apparent that the villa comes fully-furnished with high quality furniture and accessories.

On the walls are framed period prints and paintings of historical figures, lending a formality to the lounge to impress your guests, with a more risqué, unrobed lady discretely placed on the master bedroom wall.

The master bedroom is again tastefully decorated in rich earthy hues with furniture and furnishings to match, guaranteeing a restful and invigorating sleep. The wall decorations in the master bedroom harmoniously match the deep brown furnishings, whilst the ample, wall-spanning wardrobe has full-length mirrors to titillate or flatter even the most narcissistically inclined.

A unique touch is provided by the bare breasted Hindu-Khmer mythological figures that constitute the backdrop seen from either of the master bedroom windows. Experts might identify these suggestive nymphs as either Apsaras (celestial dancers) or Devatas (“shining ones” – inhabitants of the heavenly realms), but whichever they prove to be, they will assuredly watch over your slumbers and guard your dreams. In a similar vein, the sheer luxury associated with the divine paradisiacal realms is there for the asking in the form of the Jacuzzi which takes pride of place in the en suite master bedroom bathroom, matched only by the second Jacuzzi in the swimming pool.

The second or guest bedroom is similarly lavishly, yet tastefully decorated and also has a king-size bed, arrayed with a cosy duvet to assure the sweetest dreams and most cosseted sleep. It, too, has a well equipped en suite bathroom, sufficiently welcoming to impress your guests and grant them perfect privacy.

Passing through the lounge dining area, the well appointed kitchen beckons. With contemporary fixtures and fittings, from ultra-modern Teka hobs and fume-extractor to an oven sufficiently ample to accommodate the largest turkey should you fancy a Christmas or Thanksgiving feast, the amenities will satisfy the most discerning cook. The extra-large, energy efficient and ‘green’ Sharp CFC-free fridge with its freezer will likewise accommodate enough food to supply a banquet. The storage space in the kitchen is extensive and the cutlery and crockery supplied will cater to the average-sized party.

Next to the kitchen is the convenient indoor entrance to the garage, meaning one needn’t get wet when going for your vehicle in the seasonal downpours that Thailand is prone to.

An extra facilitating feature here is the switch or remotely operated garage doors, simplicity itself. Off the garage is a laundry room, equipped with the latest Siemens washing machine, so you or your maid needn’t venture out to the hinterland in search of a laundry.

Other modern amenities include an intercom to ascertain who is calling at the front door, with an access facilitator incorporated. There is also a direct phone line, meaning Internet access is possible.

As can be seen from the above description of the amenities of this luxury villa, one can be self-contained and lack for nothing. The monthly rent on this superbly equipped villa is only Bt60,000 and there is a deposit of Bt120,000, payable before occupation, making a total initial payment of Bt180,000.

However, one doesn’t have to pay maintenance fees as these are included, the only regular extras are for phone and electricity; the bills for which should be low due to the high-efficiency, low wattage light bulbs.
