Chonburi, 3 November 2010, [Pattaya Daily News]: local citizens will have the chance to bid for rare registration numbers  at the 8th Rare Registration Number Auction, at the Pacific Room, the Tide Bangsaen Hotel, Chonburi,on 7-8 November 2010, Mr. Wichit Chatphaisit, the Governor of ChonBuri , announced on 1 November.

Lucky winners will enhance their Kor Sor (กษ) – good business and happiness. The highest auction bidders who secure one or more of these supposedly auspicious numbers will have the option to sell on the registration number, use the new number with their existing one, or transfer it to others. All the money from the auction will be donated to the transport safety fund to assist the victims of transport accidents. As a bonus, lucky bidders will also receive sacred objects, such as gilded car licence plate numbers and the prayers of Provost Pra You Callahan, Abbot of Utapao.

 

Mr. Jirut Wisanjit, Chonburi Transport Office Director, stated that the serial numbers prepared for auction will be limited to three categories: cars with up to seven seats, vans, and 4-door pickups. There are a total of 301 numbers in all sets available as follows:

1 – 9 , 11 – 99, 11 – 999, 1111 – 9999, 1000 – 9000, 123 – 789, 1234 –6789, 1100 – 9988, 1001 – 9889, 1010 – 9898

The auction will start with a speech at 9am in the Pacific Room, the Tide Bangsean Hotel from 7-8 November. Participants will need to produce identification, such as a copy of an ID card, Juristic Person credentials or a verified passport.

Auction applications are now available at the following transport offices: Chonburi, Banglamung, Nongyai and Sriracha. Lunch and beverages will be free throughout the event.
