LPG Car on Fire in Sattahip

A car was on fire on the road. It’s expected that the cause of fire was fuel leaking. Fortunately there were no injuries.

SATTAHIP– October 18, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 16.00 pm Pol.Lt.Pichitpong Yodpikul-inspector of Sattahip police station- was notified that a car was on fire on Sukhumwit road in front of the military barracks. After notification the police officers rushed to inspect the scene.

At the scene the officials found a green Volvo 940 se which was on fire. The incident had also affected the traffic congestion on the road. The officials spent about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire. Upon inspecting Mr.Udomsak Kongsrisaeng aged 47 the car owner, fortunately he escaped just in time.

Upon questioning Mr.Somsak he revealed that he bought the used car which already had a LPG system installed. Before the incident, he was going about his business when there was smoke and fire in the trunk. So he decided to stop the car before using an extinguisher on the fire but it didn’t work. Therefore he decided to notify the police. It’s expected that the fuel leaked into the engine causing the fire.
