After two days of various competitions at the 5th Pattaya Food & Hoteliers Expo 2011 held at the PEACH, the Royal Cliff Beach Resort Pattaya a show that attracted large audiences. Two of the main attractioins were the Somtam-Papaya Salad Competition and Flower Fancy Dressing Competition.

The winner of the somtam competition was the Sunset Park Resort & Spa. The runner up was the Amari Orchid Pattaya and the second runner up was the Royal Cliff Hotel Group.

As for the Free-style Fruit & Vegetable Carving Showpiece Competition which attracted a large audience, the winner was the Royal Cliff hotel Group. The runner up was the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya and the second runner up was the Swissotel Le Concorde and the Sheraton Pattaya.

The Fancy Flower Competition drew a large audience with all it’s beauty and colors displayed by the the competitors from 11 hotels showing various attires along with their performances such as Thai Fencing Art, Lip sync Singing. The winner was from the Long Beach Garden Hotel & Spa who team was dressed in a flower and feather attire and performed one of TaTa Young’s concerts. The runner up was from the Amari Orchid Pattaya and the Royal Cliff Hotels Group was the second runner up.

The other results on the second day of competition are as follows: The winner of the Swedish Massage Competition was the Silavadee Spa, the runner up was the Aisawan Spa@Pullman and the second runner up was the Royal Garden Spa@Marriott.

There were approximately 20 teams from many countries attending the Fusion Food Competition (East Meets West) in which the teams had to combine more than two recipes countries per country. The winner was R&R team from Taiwan, the runner up was the W Retreat from Samui Island, Thailand, and the second runner up was the team from the Hong Kong Disneyland. As for the Fusion Food Competition (East Meets West) which had students from more than 20 institutions around Thailand attending. The winner was the Dusit Thani College, Bangkok. The runner up and the second runner up were the teams from Pranakorn Ratchamongkol Technology, Chotiwej Campus.

There were no team to reach the level of gold and silver medals for the Set Menu Competition by using Panomrung rice. The competitiors could reach only the bronze medal level. The team who received the highest score was the Yummy Yummy Catering Service. The second was the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya and the third was the Sheraton Pattaya Resort.

The Free- style Fruit & Vegetable Carving Showpiece Competition attracted a large audience to admire exquisite and elaborate art of carving. The winner was from the Royal Cliff Hotel Group. The runner up was the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya and the second runner up was the Swissotel Le Concorde and the Sheraton Pattaya.

In addition,the very highlight of the expo is the Pattaya City Culinary Cup 2011 Competition with 15 teams from 10 countries attending the three days competition.The visitors will have the opportunity to taste the food prepared by the Thai and international chefs.
