Local dancers display their talents at “Dancing Party”

Pattaya City School no.8 was host to the "Dancing Party", a dancing competition for young people. The event was to promote tourism and develop the sport in preparation for the upcoming national games.

Pattaya, November 28, 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: Yesterday, at the Pattaya City no. 8 School, the Dancing Association, together with the president of the Sports Association in Chonburi Province, Mr. Sontaya Khun Pleome, organized a youth dance contest. The ceremony was honoured by the Mayor of Pattaya City, Mr. Ittipol Khun Pleome, who made a speech at the opening ceremony.

The “Dancing Party” aims to promote tourism in Pattaya and to prepare for the National Games which are coming soon. The competition included athletes from many dancing clubs:

1. Rayong dancing sport club
2. Rayong Central Athletic Club
3. Ban Chang dancing sport club
4. Sattahip dancing sport club.
5. Chonburi dancing sport club.
6. Pattaya (youth) dancing sport club, (which hosted the event)

The competition is divided into two categories: Standard and Latin American. There were 48 couples competing and the winners received trophies, prizes and certificates.
The Mayor of Pattaya City said it was the first time in Pattaya that young people had the chance to display their skills in such a sport. He said that competition dancing improved their personalities and developed talents which would be useful to both themselves and the country in the future.
