Lobster Pot Restaurant On Fire In Walking Street Pattaya

The Lobster Pot Restaurant in Walking Street South Pattaya was on fire due to the buildup of oil on an extractor hood. A security guard tried to extinguish the fire but fell over breaking his leg.

PATTAYA – August 18, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 00.00 am Pol.Lt.Yom Promsart-investigation inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that the kitchen in the Lobster Pot restaurant in Walking Street, South Pattaya was on fire. After notification the police officers, Sawang Borriboon rescue team and firemen rushed to the scene.

 

At the scene the officers found a lot of tourists and bystanders watching the fire so they had to move them back. Later the firefighters found out that the cooker hood were the cause of fire.

 

Upon inspecting the men’s toilets inside the restaurant the officers found a lot of broken tiles and they also found Mr.Nueng Jansing the 40 year old security guard who suffered a broken left leg. Therefore the officers performed first aid on him before sending him to hospital.

Ms.Rodsukhon Khonsilp the 47 year old chef revealed that the cooker hood set on fire while he was cooking so he Mr Nueng climbed up and tried to extinguish the fire but he unfortunately fell down and broke his leg.

 

However the officers expected that the cooker hood had set on fire due to the amount of dirty oil which had built up on it due to lack of cleaning which led to a short circuit causing the fire. It’s expected that there was about 100,000 baht worth of damage.
