PATTAYA – August 22, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News], Pol.Capt. Kornphong Sukwisit (Deputy Inspector of Nong Prue police station, Chonburi province) and forces of police team had detained Mr. Yongyuth Wilaiwan, aged 31, who is the head of a loan shark gang, and his 2 underlings named Mr. Sutthirak Saeng-on, aged 27, and Mr. Khanti Lueangkrajang, aged 20, with exhibits of 2 motorbikes, 20,000 THB, business cards of Sor. Thanathip Capital, over 10,000 pieces of loan advertising, accounting books that contained customers’ names , lending contracts and 3 mobile phones. They took all the evidence to make a statement to the mass media.

Pol.Capt. Kornphong revealed that before incident occurred a debtor notified the police that he had been threatened by a loan shark gang because he hadn’t paid his debt for several days. Therefore, the police went to observe their behaviour in front the debtor’s house in Soi Khao Ta Lo. Mr Sutthirak and Mr Khanti (2 underlings of a loan shark gang) rode up on a motorbike and were wearing black helmets. They then stood around the debtor and said to him “If you don’t pay the amount due today you will be taken for sure.” After hearing what they said the police showed themselves and arrested Mr. Sutthirak and Mr. Khanti. Upon searching them the police found lots of business cards offering loans from 2,000 – 50,000 THB so the police seized them for evidence before sending them to Nong Prue police station.

Later Mr. Yongyuth Wilaiwan (the head of a loan shark gang) went to Nong Prue police station and said that he is the capitalist of Mr. Sutthirak and Mr. Khanti who provides loans to debtors. He then offered the police a 20,000 THB bribe to which the police refused and was also arrested. Initially, all accused had denied the allegations.
