Lithuanian With 49 Fake Credit Cards Caught in Pattaya

National Crime Suppression Co-ordination Center arrest a young Lithuanian with 49 counterfeit credit cards buying gold in Sri-Ratcha.

Pattaya, August 27, 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Lt.Gen. Tha-ngai Prassajaksattru, Pattaya Police reported about the arrest of Mr Antanas Chmieliauskas age 24, Lithuania citizen in possession of 49 forged credit cards and many credit card slips.

Pol.Lt.Gen. Tha-ngai Prassajaksattru said that he was notified by a Kasikorn Thai Bank officer of a foreign men using a counterfeit credit card to buy gold in a Sri-racha gold shop.

The police team found out found out that Mr Antanas stayed in room 1412 Kieng Ta Lay condominium in South Pattaya and went to arrest him as he was sleeping in his room. They found the fake credit cards, altogether 49 cards. The method used by this criminal is credit card skimming. The victims selected are usually from the U.S.A. After skimming, the information is transferred over to counterfeit credit cards which are used to draw money from ATM machines or to buy goods in Pattaya. The Pattaya police has intensified the suppression of counterfeit of credit cards gangs operating in Pattaya and Chonburi.
