Law Enforced on Jet Ski Operators

Pattaya officials have set new laws that will be enforced this month on Jet Ski operators. The law will state punishment’s for operators who try to rip off tourists.

PATTAYA- 9th October- [PattayaDailyNews] Mr.Ronnakit Aekasingha- deputy mayor of Pattaya- was accompanied with Mr.Chakorn Kanchanawatta- chief district of Bang Lamung- who chaired a meeting at Pattaya city hall with the Marine department, Pattaya police, Pattaya tourism police, insurance agents and representatives of boat operators in order to discuss the Jet Ski problems.


Mr.Ronnakit revealed that the jet ski operators had been ripping tourists off for many years which had destroyed the image of Pattaya some a committee had been set up to sort the problem. However, the situation was still the same and tourists where still complaining everyday that they had been ripped off by them. In addition the Indian and Chinese embassies had sent a representative to Pattaya to see what is being done.


Latest, the governor of Chonburi had enforced the law to prosecute any operators who try to rip off tourists, and the marine department will be in charge of writing the new rules before sending them to the Chonburi governor to be approved. It’s expected that the new law will be enforced this month.


Mr.Chakorn said that the new law would define the punishments for the offenders. At the moment there are 511 boats consisted of 451 rent boats and 60 private boats in Pattaya. The next conference will be held on 11th October.
