Kite surfers End Up On Hotel Roof

Two foreigners who were kite surfing ended up almost 20 floors up on a hotel after the wind blew them up into the air. Fortunately no one was killed.

SATTAHIP – February 18,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 16.00 pm Sawang Rojjana Thamma Satharn rescue team was notified by a security guard of the Marina building at the Ambassador City Jomtien hotel that two kite surfers had been blown up onto the rooftop injuring them. After notification the officers rushed to the scene.

At the scene on the 40th floor of the building, the officials found a male and a female who were identified as Mr.Narayan Keita aged 28 and Mrs.Tatyana Fadeyeva aged 14. They were tangled in the rope of the kite surf. Upon inspecting them they were severely injured and they had many wounds to their bodies and had suffered some broken bones. The hotel staffs took them to the first floor before where the officials performed first aid on them and then sent them to the Queen Sirikit hospital.

Upon questioning an eyewitness he revealed that they were surfing about 200 metres off the beach when their kites caught the wind which blew them up onto the roof of the hotel. Fortunately, no one was killed.
