Karaoke Shop Raided

Detection and Investigation Police Section 2 find drugs and close karaoke shop on Phra Tamnak hill Soi 4.

PATTAYA – September 4, 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Col. Chatree Suksiri (Superintendent, Detection and Investigation Police Section 2) had detected that a karaoke shop named Nick and Karaoke Pattaya which was located on Soi 4 Phra Tamnak Hill road, south Pattaya, had been opened after hours and also allowed teenagers to hangout there. Therefore, he commanded Pol.Lt.Col. Chalermsak Thianthongsri (Deputy Superintendent) to cooperate with Pol.Col. Sukthas Phoomphanmuang (Superintendent of Pattaya city police station) inspect the karaoke shop together with forces of Detection and Investigation Police Section 2, Chon Buri a special operating agency and police team of Pattaya city police station.

The karaoke shop was a 4-storied-commercial building with 3 units which on the ground floor was decorated as a karaoke shop and pub. The police found a lot of male and female tourists dancing joyfully inside the karaoke shop. When the police showed up to inspect the karaoke shop and sort out all tourists 29 men (including 1 male foreigner) and 14 women. After the police inspected some tourists’ urine which the officers found that out of the 43 tourists’ present 35 tourists had drugs in their urine which included 2 teenagers that were aged under 20 years old.

 

The police also found some Ecstacy and Ketamine which had been discarded on the floor and some drugs inside a car of 1 male tourist so the officers seized them for evidence.

Upon further inspection, the police found that this karaoke shop had just opened for 2 months and it did not have a legal license for operating a place of amusement. And this karaoke shop often allowed teenagers drink liquor and consume drugs. Therefore, the police team closed the karaoke shop until further notice.
