Male staff members from New Boys and Dai-Eji engaged in gang warfare on 30 August, which caused extensive damage to the two bars; including the setting of Dai-Eji ablaze as a result of Molotov Cocktails (bottle bombs) being thrown into the shop, according to early reports.
At 6 PM, that day, Police Colonel Suthin Sabphueng, Pattaya Superintendent and a police team, arrested Mr. Pongphol Somphongrak (23), from Nong-Bua-Lamphu Province and Mr. Adisorn Chomchalee (18) from Chaiyaphum Province. The two men, who are staff members at New Boys Karaoke, were apprehended in their apartment in Central Pattaya.

Mr Adisorn admitted throwing the bomb into Dai-Eji Karaoke and setting the shop on fire. He said that the gangs, from the two bars, had been engaged in battles four times. In the latest incident, staff members from Dai-Eji fired a gun into New Boys, but there were no injuries. Furious, he and other New Boys’ staff members, over twenty in all, gathered together and armed with clubs, guns and Molotov Cocktails, descended on Dai-Eji to take revenge

Upon arriving at Dai-Eji, the New Boys gang realized that the gang from Dai-Eji had fewer members than their gang. The New Boys gang, initially, came out to fight, but then ran away. Mr. Adisorn became even more enraged and went to get the Molotov Cocktails and threw one into the shop, causing a serious fire. He, then, ran away, but was apprehended by the police in his apartment.

Police Colonel Suthin said that the police had the lists of staff members from the two karaoke shops. They all, initially, escaped. However, the police expect to arrest all of them in the near future and will process each case to the fullest extent of the law.
