Jomtien Woman robbed of 120,000 BHT In Broad Daylight by Daring Gunman

A Jomtien woman riding her motorbike on her way to the bank was robbed by a man armed with gun on a motorbike. The man forced her to stop and stole her cash and valuables before escaping.

PATTAYA – July13, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 2 p.m., Pol. Lt. Col. Kiattisak Sratong-oi , vice director of suppression division of Muang Pattaya police station, received a report that a man used a gun in a robbery at Jomtien Second Road in the beach area, moo 12, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi. He rushed to the crime scene with police officers.

At the crime scene, the victim, Miss Chomphunoot Wongpin, 33, was waiting for police. She said she was riding her motorcycle along Jomtien Second Road to deposit money at the bank, when a man also riding a motorcycle came alongside her. The man forced her to stop and park her motorcycle. He was about 20- to 25-years-old, and was riding a gray-bronze Honda Wave with no license plate.

The man used his gun to threaten her to give him money. She was forced to give him 120,000 BHT, her Nokia cell phone, and a 1-baht gold ornament with a gold inlaid Buddha pendant. The man then drove away.

After the police had questioned her, the police broadcasted the robbery through the police radio and described the criminal’s appearance for patrol officers and police volunteers at many checkpoints to arrest him. But they could not find him. The police brought in victim to finish the daily record as evidence while they continue their efforts to arrest the criminal.
