Jealousy Triggers Woman’s Bloody Brawl With Couple

A 46-year-old woman used a cutter to slash at a middle-aged couple beating her with an iron during a fight triggered by the wife’s jealousy. The female was a regular drinking companion of the husband, but was accused by the wife of having an affair with him.

PATTAYA – September 6, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12:20 a.m., a report of a domestic knife fight resulting in injuries was received by Pol. Maj. Kovit Sawatmongkol, Inspector, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province.

He rushed to the scene with a police team and the rescue officer Sawangboribul Pattaya foundation. The incident occurred at house number 358/55 in the middle of Soi Chalermphrakiert 19 cross with Soi Tangmo in area of Pattaya Moo 10 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

Police found a couple still quarreling with a woman. The woman was holding a cutter and the couple was holding an iron. Police halted the fighting and seized the weapons.

The husband was identified as Sergeant Khamta, age 52, and his wife was Mrs. Mongkol Lordthonglarng, age 45.

Mr. Sergeant was severely drunk and had been cut in his head, left eyebrow and his hands. He was still bleeding a lot from his wounds. His wife was also drunk and was cut in her nose and under her chin, and was bleeding from facial wounds.

The woman fighting with the couple was Mrs. Janthawan Ditmer, age 46, address 99/981 Moo 10 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung,Chonburi province.

She was also drunk, and had scratches on her body and bruises on her face, as well as a big wound on her right arm. The rescue officer performed first aid for the injured parties.

During questioning, Mrs. Mongkol described the circumstances leading up to the fight. She had finished work and came back to her rental room and found that her properties in the room were ruined by Mrs. Janthawan, who always drinks liquor with her husband.

So she followed up and found her husband sitting and drinking liquor with Mrs. Janthawan.

She scolded Mrs. Janthawan for trashing her room, and forbade her from seeing her husband again, because she knew that Mrs. Janthawan liked her husband, and they used to sleep together when she was not in the room.

Then Mrs. Mongkol went with her husband back to their room. But Mrs. Janthawan followed them and had a quarrel with them. They began fighting, and Mrs. Janthawan used the cutter to stab her and her husband until they got injured, and then the police stopped the fight.

During her questioning by police, Mrs. Janthawan admitted using the cutter as the weapon, but said she did it to protect herself because the couple were beating her first.

Mrs. Janthawan told police that she and Mr. Sergeant had known each other for a long time, and they had always drank liquor together. However, Mrs. Mongkol misunderstood that it was just a friendship, and accused Mrs. Janthawan of fooling around with her husband.

So Mrs. Janthawan got angry and followed them, but she was beaten by the couple, so she used the cutter as the weapon to fight against them to protect herself, resulting in their injuries.

After their initial investigation, the police believed that the cause of the incident came from people getting drunk and jealousy arising about a suspected love affair, which led to quarreling and the fight.

The injured suspects were sent to Banglamung hospital for treatment. They were detained afterwards and sent to the investigation officer to investigate more thoroughly.
