Pattaya, 2 November 2010, [Pattaya Daily News]: the suspect, Mr. Isao Hunda [66], was arrested at home in Pattaya’s Khao Noi district in a combined police and anti-underage sex investigation team swoop at 7.30pm, Nov1.

“Mr. Hunda has been under investigation for some time, suspected of involvement in a child abuse network in Pattaya, which also included Mr. Traiphop Bunphasong [40], a child abuse and human trafficking suspect, and Mr. Mikhail Pletnev [53], a famed Russian musician, who were arrested for child-abuse offences recently,” PDN was informed by Mr. Supphakon Nova, Pattaya Welfare and Child Development Director

Mr. Hunda had apparently used the procurement services of Mr. Bunphasong to obtain boy sex-partners and also knew Mr. Pletnev well. It is also suspected that he had other acquaintances who were also involved in the Pattaya child abuse network.

When the police investigation team surprised Mr. Hunda at home with his daughter-in-law, he was shown the arrest warrant by team leader, Pol.Mjr.Gen Kittiphong Ngaomuk, Police Region2 Superintendent, which charged him with sex with a minor under 13, as well as abduction. Initially, Mr. Hunda vehemently protested his innocence, but when a police search revealed significant evidence, he had no choice but to acknowledge the authenticity of the charges.

The evidence discovered about Mr. Hunda’s house and bedroom included a series of videos showing the suspect performing sexual abuse on several boys, a notebook computer, a video camera, and several other pieces of equipment containing incriminating data. Following the presentation of the evidence, the suspect was taken to the Banglamung Police Station to be formally charged.

Pol.Mjr.Gen Kittiphong Ngaomuk told PDN that, in view of the evidence, he was confident that the suspect would be found guilty at his subsequent trial.
