Japanese man shots himself to death in Chiang Mai

A Japanese man used a .38 revolver to shoot himself in the head in a luxury hotel in Chiang Mai province. The police assumed that the cause of the shooting might be down to stress.

CHIANG MAI – May 18, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 7.00 p.m.; Pol.Lt.Col. Suwit Panyo (Inquiry official of Mueang Chiang Mai police station, Chiang Mai province) was notified that a foreign man shot himself to death. The incident occurred at one well-known hotel in area of Chang Khlan road, Amphur Mueang Chiang Mai, so he rushed to inspect the scene and found the corpse of Mr. Azushi Kimura, aged 35, who was a Japanese tourist. He had been shot with a .38 gun in his forehead.

Upon questioning the hotel clerk the police perceived that Mr. Azushi Kimura (the deceased) had stayed at the hotel since May 17, 2014 but he just kept himself to his self. On the incident day they heard a gunshot so the hotel clerk went to his room and knocked the door but nobody answered so he used an alternate key to unlock the door then he found that Mr. Azushi had shot himself to death with a revolver.The officers assumed that the deceased might be stressed about a personal problem or money due to the officers only found 21 THB on his body.

However, the police will send the corpse of Mr. Azushi for an autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Maharaj Nakhon Chiang Mai hospital and will cooperate with the Consulate-General of Japan in Chiang Mai to contact his relatives to collect the body.
