Irish Man Hangs Himself To Death In Pattaya

An Irish man has committed suicide by hanging himself in the bathroom of his rented room in Pattaya because he had been sacked from his job back in Ireland.

PATTAYA – September 24, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 13.00 pm Pol.Lt.Puttipong Chuenchom-investigation inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that a foreigner hangs himself to death in The Press Condominium, South Pattaya. After notification the police rushed to the scene.

 

At the scene on the fifth floor the officers found the body of Mr Michael John White aged 27 from Northern Ireland and he was security guard in his homeland. The body had faced down on the ground in front of bathroom. Upon inspecting the body there were no signs of foul play.

 

Upon questioning Ms.Patcharee Wapadthai aged 24 the deceased’s girlfriend she revealed that Mr.Michael had been in Thailand and had been renting a room for the past 3 months. Before the incident, she went to his room while he was on a line and he looked stressed. Later he told her that he was sacked from the job and he wouldn’t have money to take care her and told her to go back to her house. She didn’t go which made him very angry and he threw a basket at her causing the TV to fall to the ground and break. He then went to the bathroom and locked himself in.

 

Ms.Patcharee added that she thought that he was talking on the phone but after a long time had passed she shouted him but he didn’t reply. Therefore she decided to call a security guard to break down the door where they found Mr Michael hangs himself on shower curtain with a bag strap. They then tried to save his life but it was too late.

 

Initially the officials had notified his embassy before sending the body for an autopsy.
