Chonburi, 27th Dec 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]:  On the 26th Dec 2010,  the authorities of Forestry Chonburi, led by Mr. Krit Saenggulaab, leader of the forestry protection team Chonburi – Borthong, along with the Siracha Administration official, Mr. Priawpan Sinthongchai, went to examine the area of the Khon Samor Hill, Moo3 Surasak, Siracha, Chonburi, after having received several complaints of locals about an investor excavating on the hill sight, claiming up about 10 rai.

When the officials arrived at the scene they found a ‘backhoe’ vehicle, digging up soil and moving it into the trolley of a 10-wheel truck. Caught in the act, the officials confiscated the vehicles immediately.

After further investigation has been made, it was found that  Mr. Chaiwat Wannasiripong had been working as a supervisor of 5 more workers at the scene, with the land deed of Ms.Siriwan Wannasiripong, which claims the ownership of 3 rai, where the concerned claimed to have been working on.

However, it was found that there had been excavation taking place out of the owned land, claiming no less than 10 rai, on ‘Khon Samor’ hillside area, which is forest area.

The punishment will be less than 5 years imprisonment and a fine of a maximum of 50,000 Baht; or both as well as the seizure of the ‘backhoe’ vehicle and the 3, 10-wheel trucks used in the act of the crime.
