Informatics Olympiad 2011 in Thailand

The Ministry of Education has announced that Thailand is to be the host of the 23rd International Olympiad in Informatics: IOI 2011. The 84 member countries will participate in this upcoming activity as well.

Pattaya, 18th February 2011[Pattaya Daily News] Mr. Chaiyot Jiramethakorn Deputy Minister of Education; Dr. Phornphan Waithayangkoon, who is also a director of The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science, and Assoc. Dr. Khanchit Malaiwong, chairman of International Olympiad in Informatics’s organizing held a press conference to announce that Thailand is hosting the 23rd International Olympiad in Informatics: IOI 2011. The event will held at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort Hotel, Pattaya from 22nd til 29th July 2011.

Mr. Jiramethakorn revealed that 84 countries will be sending competitors to join the 23rd International Olympiad in Informatics: IOI 2011. This chance was deemed to express o the other countries about Thailand’s reliability, readiness and capability in organinsing academic activity. The competition is creative opportunity for all participants. Since its first origination in 1989. Thailand competitors have won 11 gold medals, 26 silver medals, and 32 bronze medals in formerly.

Accordingly, the competition will arouse academics and encourage their ideas about developing teaching in various academic fields using a computer system. Moreover, it will help produce the quality personnel needed for IT development in social progress.
