Immigration police arrest Chinese con men

Immigration police have arrested 3 Chinese men who are wanted for fraud in China. They defrauded people out of over 250 million THB before coming to Thailand to hide.

BANGKOK – May 6, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 11.00 a.m.; at the Immigration Bureau, Pol.Lt.Gen. Phanu Kerdlarpphon (Commissioner of Immigration Bureau), Pol.Maj.Gen. Montri Protranan (Deputy Commissioner), Pol.Maj.Gen. Warawuth Thaweechaikarn (Commander) and Pol.Col. Thikhamporn Srisang (Superintendent) together made a statement about the arrest of 3 Chinese defendants that escaped fraud charges in China to hide in Thailand. The arrested were identified as a Mr Kao Ferng, aged 45, Mr Kao Yi, aged 30 and Mr Ferng Jian Jwin, aged 47, who together embezzled property by persuading Chinese people to invest in construct and real estate. The total amount they gained was over 250 million THB. They were arrested at Amphur Saraphee, Chiang Mai Province.

 

The second defendant a Mr Lua Xia Phing, aged 45,had defrauded over 180 million THB and tried to hide by opening a restaurant in Huay Kwang District, Bangkok. The last defendant a Mr Gu Jue Phing, aged 42, had defrauded approximately 3 million THB. He was arrested at his restaurant in Amphur Bang Phli, Samut Prakan Province.

Pol.Lt.Gen. Phanu said that initially the officers have taken legal action according to the Immigration Act and prepared to extradite them to their home country to stand trial and to be prosecuted further according to their country’s law.
