Illegal Slot Machines Don’t Pay Off In Pattaya

Pattaya police seized 5 illegal electronic slot machines they found in a business building on soi Yen Sabai. Police had received complaints about the gambling and that children and teens were allowed to play the games.

PATTAYA – April 22, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; a police team and volunteer police conducted a raid to seize several illegal gambling machines. The raid was led by Pol. Capt. Seksak Arthornkijjawat, Deputy Inspector, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province.

The machines were kept in a building with no address on Soi Yen Sabai, Phratamnuk road, Moo 10 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

Police had been receiving complaints that there was smuggling to bring in slot machines or electronic gambling machines to play illegally. The police team seized 5 slot machines, although the owner escaped before officers arrived.

Police took action because there were a lot of complaints about the opening of slot machines to service people. Sometimes there were a lot of children and teenagers who came to play the machines.

The police team went to inspect and found that there was really smuggling of gambling machines, so the officers seized all of the electronic slot machines. Initially, the police seized all the machines for evidence and will follow up to track down the owner to prosecute further according to the law.
