Illegal Chinese Lottery RaidedA group of Chinese men who were operating an illegal lottery in Pattaya have been arrested by police.
PATTAYA – July 22,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; at 10.00 am Pol.Col.Suktad Pumpanmuang-superintendent of Pattaya police station- and police officers made a statement about the arrest of 4 Chinese men consisting of 1.Mr.Wei Chen aged 27 2.Mr.Keqiang Sui aged 29 3.Mr.Qiang Gao aged 26 and Mr.Xianxiang Shen aged 27 after they had operated an illegal lottery.
Previously, the police officers investigated and found out that the Chinese had rented a house in Pattaya Lagoon village where they operated the lottery website. The officers had monitored them for awhile and on 21st July the police raided the house and arrested them.
They had been in Pattaya for about a month and they sourced their customers via “QQ” on the internet. There was about 2 million BHT in circulation each day which was shared between them and others in China.
Upon questioning them they revealed that they decided to operate in Thailand because the punishment is less here compared to China. Initially, the police officers prosecuted them according to Thai law and transferred them to the Chinese embassy.
