Illegal Animals Found in Pattaya

A Thai woman was reported to the police for having illegal animals.

PATTAYA-17th November- [PattayaDailyNews] at 17.00 pm Mr.Pongthasit Pitchanan- acting leader of the special administrative officer- was accompanied with Pol.Col.Suktad Pumpanmuang- superintendent of Pattaya police station- lead a team of police, soldiers and immigration police to inspect Wandee Group company.

Upon inspection the officers found several wildlife animals in glass boxes such as Anacondas, crocodiles, a big sea fish and some rare coral. Initially, the official confiscated the items so that they can be inspected further.

 

Upon questioning Ms.Nittaya Wongsin aged 45 who is the owner she admitted that she had the leopard as the villagers claimed. She bought 2 leopards a couple of months ago from Chatuchak merchant because they were sick she felt sorry for them.

Mr.Pongthasit said that the official found out that there were several wildlife animals that are prohibited such as a boa, python, crocodile; therefore, Pattaya police confiscated them. If these animals were illegally imported, the owner will be prosecuted according to Thai law.
