National Peace Keeping Council , NPKC, has joined forces with the Office of national broadcasting telecommunications Commission ( NBTC .) and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to block inappropriate sites , and are to appoint a committee with the general director of ICT work to supervise and monitor the use of social media websites.

The board has been operating continuously and it has blocked the URLs of many sites and as for sites like insta gram , Facebook , Twitter , and Line, if they are found to be disobeying the NPKC rules they will contact the overseas parent company to close that account individually, also if the company does not cooperate the NPKC will block the site from accessing Thailand.

However, the ICT Ministry will continue to build a National Digital Internet gateway ,which is a collaboration between the ISP of TOT, CAT and another 6 ISPs to create a standard network security scheme for public use throughout the country at an economy price. Also there is a plan to build a social network for Thai people to use.

TOT and CAT covers 80-90 % of Internet use in the country and if combined with the other six, Thailand would not have to rent the coverage from foreign companies. The ISP will still do business the same and the ICT Ministry will oversee the creation of the new gateway . The National Gateway will help block sites and prevent terrorist attacks.
