Husband Attempts to Stab Wife

A 47-year-old Thai man attempted to stab his wife after he claimed that she had stolen his 1,000 THB.

SATTAHIP – July 1,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.10 a.m., Pol.Capt. Saijai Khamjulla (Inquiry official of Sattahip police station) was notified that there was a drunken man who had attempted to stab a female in front of Chonthicha traditional massage shop located in Sahachai market, Moo 5 Tambon Sattahip, Amphur Sattahip, Chon Buri province, so he rushed to the scene together with Sattahip police officers.


At scene the police detained Mr. Sa-waeng Roopsuay, aged 47, who was very drunk and had gone crazy. He was carrying a 3-inch-knife and had attempted to stab Mrs. Thanaporn Srisanthia, aged 53, who was his wife. Fortunately, nobody had been injured.

Upon questioning Mr. Sa-waeng he confessed to attempting to stab his wife because he thought that she had stolen 1,000 THB from him. He said that he had called his wife in order to ask her about his 1,000 THB that was missing but his wife hung up on him which made him furious. He then drank a lot of alcohol before going to the massage where she worked to stab her.


Mrs. Thanaporn told the police that she has been living with Mr. Sa-waeng for over 10 years but recently he had started drinking and after he got drunk he would argue with her which caused trouble at the massage shop where she worked because the customers would run away. Today, before the incident occurred Mrs. Thanaporn was servicing a customers when suddenly Mr. Sa-waeng walked in and started shouting at her accusing her of stealing his money, he then attempted to stab her but the employees intervened and called the police who then arrested him. He will now be prosecuted according to Thai law.
